To apply for assistance please send an email to abedi@ieee.org in addition to completing the travel expense form on the student conference website. Your email should address the following eligibility criteria and contain your department chair email address for verification purposes.
The University of Maine is a member of the Northeastern Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (NEAGEP), a National Science Foundation initiative to increase the overall participation of underrepresented minority students in doctoral programs in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. Opportunities for undergraduate summer research internships and graduate fellowships are available at the University of Maine through the NEAGEP program.
NSF recognizes African-American, Native American, Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, and Hispanic as underrepresented minority groups in STEM fields. All candidates must be US residents or resident aliens. To qualify for the special travel grant, applicants must fit these NSF criteria.
