As Director of the UMaine Industrial Assessment Center for seven years, I got a chance to assist Maine manufacturers in reducing energy costs and minimizing waste. That experience prepared me to establish the College of Engineering's Advanced Manufacturing Center. We are currently working with several agencies to establish the necessary infrastructure for this center.
