I'm the Department Coordinator for the Electrical Engineering Technology program at the University of Maine. I teach the upper level courses in Electric Drives and Power Systems Analysis along with the first year courses in Electric Circuits. EET 321 covers three phase theory, magnetics, transformers, DC Machines and programmable logic control. EET 422 covers AC machines, DC and AC Drives, short circuit analysis and protective device coordination.
When I'm not teaching or performing research, I'm usually outside doing some type of outdoor adventure sport. I take some time in the summer to assist in running a YMCA Camp in Ellsworth, Maine. Its located on Branch Lake which offers great swimming, kayaking, sailing, fishing and water skiing! I enjoy the opportunity to teach children outdoor skills as well as teaching college students engineering skills.
I also love to ski. The University of Maine has an excellent nordic trail system and its only a two hour drive to Sugarloaf USA for alpine skiing. I try to get out west for some powder skiing on Spring Break. The picture below was taken two years ago at Copper Mountain, Colorado.

Maine is a great place to raise kids if you don't mind a long Winter. They say in Maine you get eleven months of Winter and July. Luckily, July is really nice.
