Pollution Prevention (P2) Sites
This is a list of pollution prevention sites compiled by the University of Dayton Industrial Assessment Center.
- Envirofacts (EPA)
- ENVIROFACTS is a relational database that integrates data from four major EPA program systems. It contains data, updated monthly, that is available under the Freedom of Information Act. No enforcement or budget sensitive information is contained in the database. The databases include: Permit Compliance System (PCS), Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Information System (CERCLIS), Toxic Release Inventory System (TRIS), Resource Conservation and Recovery Information System (RCRIS), Facility Index System (FINDS), and ENVIRONFACTS Master Chemical Integrator (EMCI). Excellent; highly recommended.
- The Tellus Institute
- General information about the Tellus Institute with areas of interest focusing on energy conservation and solid waste reduction.
- US EPA Atmospheric Pollution Prevention Division
- Contains not only information on the Atmospheric Pollution Prevention Division, but of other EPA programs as well. Not too much technical information (mainly info about the program), but provides easy access to other EPA links.
- EPA Initiatives, Policy and Strategy Documents
- Contains various documents on the EPA's initiatives, policies, and strategies.
- National Pollution Prevention Center for Higher Education
- Created by the EPA in 1991 to collect, develop, and disseminate educational materials on pollution prevention. Operated by the University of Michigan, NPPC is the primary clearinghouse of curricular materials, case studies, and research publications related to pollution prevention.
- US Environmental Protection Agensy's Green Lights Program
- Information about the EPA's Green Lights program and how to become a member.
- Air & Waste Management Association
- This site contains AWMA publications, membership info, and other resources.
- Environmental Resource Center
- The Environmental Resource Center is an innovative cooperative between private industry and multiple levels of government. Directed and developed by industry, the ERC will provide an effective means to assimilate, enhance, and distribute existing environmental knowledge.
- EnviroLink Gopher
- Many publications, discussions, and factsheets on environmental issues can be found here. Not much technical info, but rather complete and thorough P2 info can be found.
- Enviro$en$e
- Enviro$en$e includes a pollution prevention forum for all levels of government, researchers, industry, and public interest groups. Contains links to various databases. Eniro$en$e is an excellent site for those interested in P2.
- Pollution Prevention at the Center for Clean Technology at UCLA
- Not much technical information although thorough and descriptive insights into the P2 activities at the CCT. Contains some links to other relative sites.
- OIPEA
- Site includes PC, Macintosh, and Unix versions of the Energy Analysis/Industrial Assessment Database. This database contains hundreds of energy conservation/pollution prevention assessments conducted by the thirty universities in the program.
- WA State Dept. of Ecology Pollution Prevention Information
- Good starting point for P2 resources on the WWW. No technical information is presented. The strategy of the WA State Dept. of Ecology is given in text format.
- Georgia Pollution Prevention Assistance Division (P2AD)
- This site is a good resource for P2 information and related links. This site also has an on line newsletter (P2AD) with excellent P2 discussions.
- Ohio EPA P2 Server
- Contains many fact filled papers on pollution prevention methods. Also has links to EPA's other programs available on the WWW such as Green Lights and Energy Star.
