- Alternative Fuels Data Center (AFDC)
- The Alternative Fuels Data Center (AFDC) is operated by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) with funding and direction from the Office of Alternative Fuels within the Office of Transportation Technologies at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). The AFDC collects operating information from vehicles (in programs sponsored by the Alternative Motor Fuels Act) running on alternative fuels, analyzes those data, and makes them available to the public. The AFDC also maintains information on research reports conducted for both the Biofuels Systems Division and the Fuel Utilization Data and Analysis Division of the DOE Office of Alternative Fuels. A good site for those who want info on the alternative fuels for vehicles.
- Alternative Fuels in Trucking
- Alternative Fuels in Trucking is an on-line magazine aimed to keep fleet operators, equipment suppliers, government officials and other interested parties informed of important developments which impact the use of alternative fuels in heavy-duty trucks.
- American Solar Energy Society
- The American Solar Energy Society is the national society for professionals and others involved in the field of solar energy. Membership info, publication, fact sheets, and more can all be found here.
- Argonne National Laboratory
- A site containing anything you wanted to know about Argonne National Labs. Includes overviews of various research projects and other related activities. Extensive technical and non technical information from ANL.
- Biofuels Information Network
- The Biofuels Information Network is an integral part of the U.S. Department of Energy, Biofuels System Division outreach activities. The BSD funds research analyses on liquid and gaseous fuels produced from dedicated energy crops such as grasses and fast-growing short-rotation trees. Contains non technical background information on the Biofuels program with a place to order articles and links to other sites.
- California Energy Commission
- This Home Page hopes to have a full node with gigabytes of information about California's energy production, consumption, etc.
- Conservation Update
- On line access to Kentucky's Division of Energy publication, Conservation Update Past issues can be accessed as well as the most current one. The purpose of Conservation Update is to provide the transfer of current state energy conservation programs and technological information among states and territories.
- District Energy
- This virtual library page contains subsections on cogeneration, district heating, and district cooling. Basic background information on these topics is given.
- EcoNet
- EcoNet serves organizations and individuals working for environmental preservation and sustainability. EcoNet builds coalitions and partnerships with individuals, activist organizations and non-profit organizations to develop their use of the electronic communications medium. Also has a link to EcoGopher, EcoNet's gopher site at Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI)
- Internet access to EPRI whose mission is to discover, develop, and deliver high value technological advances through networking and partnership with the electricity industry. General overview of EPRI and their programs is given, so if you are interested in what's going on with EPRI, then it is a good site to visit.
- Energy and Climate Information Exchange (ECIX)
- ECIX consists of files on a variety of energy and climate related topics including an archive of issues of several electronic journals. Some good information can be found here.
- Energy Efficient Housing in Canada
- This is a small archive containing information about and pointers to information about and pointers to information about Energy Efficient and Environmentally Responsible housing in Canada.
- Energy Federation, Inc.
- EFI site contains information about various energy related resource programs. The site also provides comparisons between energy efficient components and standard components such as light bulbs, insulation, and water related products.
- Energy Ideas Clearinghouse
- EICBBS includes discussion forums on renewable energy, sustainable building practices, environmental issues, and electric vehicles, as well as a training calendar, programs database, and jobs/resume listing service.
- Energy Information Administration
- The EIA is a leader in providing high-quality, policy-independent energy information to government, industry, and the public, in a manner that promotes sound policy making, efficient markets, and public understanding. Contains a downloadable program called the Short-Term Energy Model which analyzes energy prices and other information (Windows); also has extensive publications on line.
- Energy Yellow Pages
- A comprehensive directory of renewable energy companies, trade associations, research organizations, educational programs and publications. Standard listings are available at no charge, expanded ones available for a fee. Gives listings of phone numbers of contacts in a local area dealing with a topic of interest.
- Green Lights Program
- Information about this efficient lighting program, its goals, and how to participate.
- Home Energy Online
- With the introduction of the online version of Home Energy, information on any topic covered in the magazine can now be accessed quickly through a system of links connecting articles in different issues.
- International Geothermal Association
- Home Page of the IGA, which is worldwide in scope with members in 52 countries. Countains general information about the IGA and its activities.
- National Renewable Energy Laboratory
- Highlights of this site include: the NREL publications database, the New Energy Information Locator (NEIL), Solar radiation data and maps, wind energy resource maps, facilities guide to DOE labs, recent press releases and research in progress.
- Office of Industrial Technologies
- OIT is part of the DOE's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. OIT's mission is to create partnerships among industry, trade groups, government entities and other organizations to develop and deliver advanced energy efficiency, renewable energy, and pollution prevention technologies to industrial customers.
- Rocky Mountain Institute
- RMI focuses its mission, values, and style in seven areas: Energy, Water, Economic Renewal, Agriculture, Global Security, Green Development, Transportation. The site gives general information about the institute and provides access to documents in these areas of interest.
- Solstice (CREST Home Page)
- Solstice is a site for energy efficiency, renewable energy, and sustainable technology information and connections. You can register with Solstice, or simply leave some comments.
- Sunsite FTP Server Alternative Energy Information
- UNC maintains an excellent collection of alternative energy fact sheets, newsletters, and other documents available for anonymous ftp.
- Texas State Energy Conservation Office
- Site contains information on the ongoing programs with the Texas SEO and their clients.
- Turning Point
- On line access to the Turning Point newsletter. Turning Point is the newsletter of the Motor Challenge Program.
- University of Wisconsin-Madison Solar Energy Laboratory
- The University of Wisconsin-Madison College of Engineering's Solar Energy Lab is the oldest of its kind in the world. It has been recognized nationally and internationally for accomplishments in practical applications for solar energy.
- Winning Technologies: Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Success Stories
- Sponsored by the US DOE's EE/RE division, this site offers case studies of programs that have been successful in promoting sustainable energy.
